PRM Engineering and NASA - One step for mankind
and a giant step for PRM/Eng!

Premier Rock Machinery (PRM) are known in the industry for our wealth of knowledge in hydraulics, service installations for all the top OEM’s, high quality excavator mounted attachments, (including as QLD dealers for Montabert Rock Breakers and Movax Piling Hammers amongst other quality attachments.

We are also renowned for our work in safety around mobile machinery including supply and installation of height limiters and proximity warning/pedestrian detection systems as dealers for GKD Technik.

In 2017 Premier Rock Machinery were one of the successful recipients of the Advance Queensland IGNITE Funding grant and were awarded $99,700.00 from the Queensland Government for the development of Sentinel VISION, a unique and innovative Hazardous Zone Monitoring System for use on and around mobile machinery which industry partners have described as a "game changer". By mapping the zone in three dimensions, the system can reliably alert pedestrians and machine operators of hazardous zone breaches.

PRM were approached by a major Tier 1 Construction company to assist with a solution to EWP crushing injuries through their work with Sentinel VISION. PRM also received support letters from Tier 1 companies such as Downer, John Holland and CPB encouraging the development of such a system.

We approached Mr John Vranish – Electrical Engineer Emeritus/Goddard Space Flight Centre and Nominee for 2019 National Inventor’s Hall of Fame. John has also been referred to as the Mr Q of NASA!

John was the original Inventor of Capaciflector technology while engaged at NASA – and PRM requested his assistance with our project and he has graciously remained our consultant ever since.

PRM and our dedicated mechatronics engineers (PRM Engineering) are thrilled to be guided by the expertise of someone of Mr Vranish’s calibre. While we have continued adapting our solutions to more current mechanisms of sensors, John remains in consultation with us along this journey and we have become a topic of NASA in his feedback to them about our company.

PRM would also like to thank the Queensland Government, Advance Queensland Fund, CSIRO, Department of Industry, Innovation and Science and our Industry Partners including EIC Activities (CIMIC Group) and Downer for their ongoing support through funding and live site trials
